Man accused of taking photos up women's skirts at an HEB in Pearland, according to police. PEARLAND, Texas – A man is accused of taking cellphone photos up women’s skirts at an H-E-B in Pearland, according to the police department. The incident was reported around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the H-E-B location on 2710 Pearland Pkwy. Police released surveillance photos of the suspect in hopes of leading to the identification of the man. SUMTER, S.C. – A South Carolina woman has been charged with aggravated breach of peace and food tampering after authorities say she licked her hands and then touched things in a grocery store. Holliday was arrested Saturday by Sumter police officers after they responded to a suspicious person call at an IGA grocery store. Police say video from inside the store shows a woman licking her hands and coughing before pulling on freezer doors and touching food items. The woman did the same thing another part of the store, police say. Police said Holliday is also charged in a similar incident at another location.

HOUSTON – As concerns over the new coronavirus continue to rise in the Houston area and throughout the country, grocery store shoppers are finding dozens of used gloves and disinfecting wipes dumped in store parking lots. KPRC 2 visited a H-E-B, Food Town and an International food store in southwest Houston and found the discarded personal protection equipment in every parking lot. Valdez suggests throwing them away in a trash bag since bio hazard bags aren’t available for the general public. She also suggests taking it a step further before throwing the items away. “Even using hand sanitizer on gloved hands, even doing that might be a good way to clean off the virus, get rid of the virus and dispose of the gloves that way,” Valdez said.

A 65-year-old man was tackled by customers after coughing and spitting on produce items at a grocery store in Massachusetts, WFXT reports. Before police arrived at the Shop and Stop store in Kingston, a bystander witnessed things get violent between the individual and staff and another shopper in-store. The bystander says the man was tackled and pinned down until police arrived. According to WBZ, there is no reason to believe the man has coronavirus, police said; however, out of caution, the man was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. The Board of Health has inspected the store and affirmed the store is safe for shoppers.”According to the reports, the man could face criminal charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery and destruction of property.

In order to help enforce social distancing, Kroger is experimenting with one-way aisles at some of its stores. Dayton Daily News reports some Kroger stores are implementing one-way aisles to help lessen physical proximity among shoppers, according to officials at the Cincinnati-based Kroger Company. Despite reminders, it has been a challenge for shoppers to practice social distancing at grocery stores. Many are forgetting to keep their distance from people as they race to collect items before it’s sold out. One-way aisles and metering guided by store workers will help shoppers properly practice social distancing in-stores.

HOUSTON – Beloved Texas grocery store chain, H-E-B is set to open its doors in Meyerland next week after the community was without an H-E-B store since 2017 following flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey. The highly-anticipated two-story store in the Meyerland Plaza will open on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 4700 Beechnut Street. In October 2017, H-E-B closed the location at North Braeswood Boulevard and Chimney Rock Road after it incurred severe flood damage.
