Hurricane Ida barreled into the Louisiana coast on Sunday, bringing with it catastrophic levels of flooding and 150 mph winds that tied it for the fifth-strongest hurricane to ever hit the U.S. mainland. HOUSTON โ Customers are being warned by local law enforcement after a scam targets Entergy. The Jefferson County Sheriffโs Office and other local law enforcement agencies are alerting residents after receiving multiple calls regarding the phone scam. They also have automated answering machines that sound like Entergy, officials said. The scammers will ask you for a number, your account number, your social security number or Tax ID number. If you have been targeted or a victim of the scam, officials ask to call your local police department, Entergy and your financial institution.

Shenandoah Council budgets for energy issues, plans to file complaint against Entergy for outages
During budget talks the morning of Aug. 10, the Shenandoah City Council discussed frequent electrical outages in the city and what can be done to limit the number in the future. The council considered two options for replacing overhead lines in parts of the city. Peart said by doing so the city would be providing more reliable energy and theoretically reducing the number of outages to those neighborhoods. By having a dual feed, Peart said Entergy explained outages would be much shorter. Council Member Michael McLeod said the outages are ultimately Entergys responsibility.
