POWER OUTAGES: 55,000 customers affected as storms hit Houston area

HOUSTON – Power outages at the height of Friday morning’s severe storms in the Houston area reached more than 55,000.

10:30 a.m. update:

CenterPoint had 27,072 customers with no power. The company doesn’t have a map anymore to show where those outages are concentrated.

Entergy has more than 18,000 customers without power. Here’s what that looks like in some of our counties:

• Harris: 531
• Galveston: 138
• Montgomery: 10,155
• San Jacinto: 663
• Trinity: 463
• Walker: 3,813
