A violent carjacking ended in a deadly crash in Downtown Houston, police said.

A pedestrian died Sunday morning after being hit by a Houton METRO bus in downtown Houston.

Downtown Houston is rebuilding after last month’s derecho, with most roads and sidewalks now reopened.

A person has been pronounced dead and three others were wounded after they were reportedly involved in a series of shootings in Midtown on Monday.

A man and woman were injured when a gun they were struggling over discharged, striking them both, Houston police said.

HOUSTON – Two Houston police officers were injured Friday night after a wrong-way driver struck their patrol vehicle in downtown Houston, according to the Houston Police Department. Both officers were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials. Responding officers said the suspect showed minimal signs of intoxication and admitted she had consumed a few drinks. Teare said the woman could be charged with intoxication assault of a peace officer. “This is downtown Houston on Friday night,” Teare said.

HOUSTON, Texas – A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle crash in downtown Houston overnight, according to the Houston Police Department. Just after 12:05 a.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to a location near the intersection of Commerce Street and Travis Street on a report of a motorcycle crash. On arrival, units located a downed motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Investigators said the motorcyclist was driving northbound on Travis Street when he attempted to pass a car and lost control of his motorcycle.

HOUSTON A suspect was killed in an officer-involved shooting Tuesday afternoon in downtown Houston, according to police. The shooting was reported in the 1900 block of Travis Street. No officers were injured in the shooting, according to HPD Chief Art Acevedo. This is a developing story.

HOUSTON Several people are in custody after an apparent road rage shooting ends outside of Houston Police Department headquarters Tuesday. Police said they got a call just after 3 a.m. about three vehicles following each other in downtown and midtown. According to officers, the cars were ramming into each other and police believe shots were fired between the vehicles. At some point, the vehicles ended up outside HPD headquarters on Travis Street, where officers came out of the building and arrested four to five people. Officers believe this all may have started at a bar in midtown but are still investigating.

HOUSTON – Several streets will be expected closed Saturday morning for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Ride, Run and Parade. The Rodeo Run wheelchair division begins at 9:10 a.m. followed by the 10K race and 5K fun run/walk. The downtown Houston Rodeo Parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Bagby Street heading east on Walker Street, south on Travis Street, west on Bell Street, north on Louisiana Street, west on Lamar Street, concluding on Lamar Street at Bagby Street.
