Two regions in California, San Joaquin Valley and Southern California, have triggered the state's new stay-at-home order after capacity in their intensive-care units fell below 15%, according to the California Department of Public Health. Gavin Newsom on Thursday said the state would be split into five regions — the Bay Area, Greater Sacramento, Northern California, San Joaquin Valley and Southern California. If the remaining ICU capacity in a region falls below 15%, it will trigger the stay-at-home order, he said. Newsom warned that every area was projected to drop below 15% ICU capacity at some point in December. San Joaquin Valley's ICU capacity dropped to 8.6% as of Saturday, while Southern California's capacity, which includes Los Angeles and San Diego counties, dipped to 12.5%, according to a statement from CDPH.

The FDA has approved this VITAL ventilator for coronavirus disease patients designed and built by engineers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. The ventilator was one of several coronavirus-fighting devices and technologies NASA showed President Donald Trump last week. "VITAL poses several benefits in the national response to COVID-19," NASA officials said in the statement. The VITAL ventilator is designed to last up to four months and is not a replacement for dedicated hospital ventilators, which can last years. The California Institute of Technology (Caltech), which manages JPL for NASA, is offering a free license for the VITAL ventilator to commercial medical manufacturers.

FOUR OFFICERS fired and killed a man allegedly running from a stolen car. It happened after a chase that started in Pasadena. As the suspects were running, four officers shot and killed one suspect who had a gun. Two HPD officers discharged their firearms. Two Pasadena officers discharged their firearms," Assistant Houston police Chief Troy Finner said.Of the officers involved, two of them are with HPD and two are with Pasadena police.Police tell ABC13 that two other suspects were taken into custody.
