Chemical odor reported across Pasadena; officials say no unsafe readings detected so far

Foul odor prompts response from Pasadena EMA and Fire Department

Odor alert issued for Pasadena residents (City of Pasadena, KPRC-TV)

Pasadena’s Office of Emergency Management says it has received multiple reports of a chemical or gas-like odor in various parts of the city, prompting responses from the Pasadena Fire Department.

Firefighters investigated several locations and, as of the latest update, officials said they have not detected readings indicating unsafe air conditions.

OEM said it has also contacted Harris County Pollution Control and requested additional air-quality assessments. Officials noted that, according to the latest CAER notification, Next Wave Energy Partners at 601 N. South Street is currently conducting flaring operations at its facility.
