Pasadena police officer, 2 others taken to hospitals after chain-reaction crash on SH 225 during traffic stop

Police said a patrol unit was struck from behind in the 300 block of State Highway 225, leading to a four-vehicle collision

PASADENA, Texas – Pasadena police are investigating a Saturday wreck on State Highway 225 that happened as an officer was working a traffic stop.

According to the Pasadena Police Department, the marked patrol vehicle was hit from behind, setting off a domino effect that pulled several other cars into the crash. Police said four vehicles total — including the patrol unit — were damaged so badly they couldn’t be driven away and were towed from the scene.

The officer and two of the drivers were taken to local hospitals to be evaluated, police said. Another driver chose not to be transported.

The department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is handling the investigation, which police said is still ongoing.
