HPD says units are on scene and investigating (SKY2)

PASADENA, Texas – Houston police responded Tuesday morning to a report of an armed person at Dobie High School.

Officers were called to the campus around 8 a.m. after a student reported seeing someone with a firearm on campus.

Administrators immediately placed the school on lockdown while Houston police and several other agencies responded and began checking the campus.

Pasadena ISD officials say every single student at the school was searched during the classroom sweeps.

Police said the call was a false alarm as no guns were found but a vape pen was confiscated.

“Dobie High School has been placed on lockdown today out of an abundance of caution after a report that a student saw an individual with a possible firearm on campus.

Law enforcement and campus administration responded immediately, and an investigation is currently ongoing.

All students and staff are safe.

The lockdown was implemented to ensure the safety of everyone on campus while the situation is thoroughly assessed. Students are being supervised by staff, and safety protocols are being followed.

Please know that the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

At this time, parents should not come to campus, as this may interfere with emergency operations. We ask for your patience and cooperation while the investigation continues."
