Houston, Pasadena – Got lost in Pasadena yesterday, and it’s just what my soul needed. Strawberries, laughs, and a slight purse mishap while giggling in the bubbles with the kids. In so many ways, Pasadena reminded me of home. I talked to our viewers while sipping a very small glass of strawberry wine, then stumbled on a coffee shop owned by high-school sweethearts playing Mariah Carey’s Fantasy.
The bubbles and breeze really helped with the heat. Honestly, I don’t know if there’s an age limit, but the risk was worth the experience.
If you’re heading outside today—dancing in the bubbles, letting your hair flow free for Jeep Week, catching a baseball game, or enjoying a traditional Sunday night dinner in the backyard with family—the main story is the heat. Feels-like temperatures are hitting the triple digits in some spots
WATCH: With feels-like temperatures soaring to triple-digits thanks to the humidity, it’s like stepping into a steaming hot tub. Staying hydrated is critical in this heat—but what should YOU be drinking? Tips from a dietitian here.
FutureTrack: is showing a slight chance for rain for a few folks up north, especially my friends in Livingston and north of Huntsville. You might catch a quick round before afternoon, then another after dinner, with activity splitting from the north and near Galveston. Overall, today is all about the heat, but thunderstorms are ramping up this week.
Rain chances will pick up Monday afternoon and build through Tuesday–Thursday, with rain chances holding all the way to Memorial Day.
Some areas north could get 5” of rainfall in the next five days. If you don’t have our weather app yet, now’s the perfect time to download it for all the updates.
Watch: But what does widespread, scattered and isolated really mean? Details here!
But for now, Pasadena—thank you for inspiring me. Strong values. Honest people. Enjoy the heat today, a stormy week is ahead for us all! And if you made it to the very end - thank you so much reading. I’m truly grateful!
