According to TODAY, TikTok creator Troi, who goes by @allthingstroi, was at the Brazilian steakhouse when the person she was supposed to meet never showed up.
Troi shared a video from the restaurant, explaining that she had essentially been stood up by a friend.
Instead of leaving her to deal with the disappointment alone, the restaurant staff stepped in.
Troi said Fogo de Chão gave her a free drink and dessert and encouraged her to stay, enjoy herself and head to the bar.
She also said employees told her, “We’re your date tonight.”
The video quickly gained attention online, with hundreds of thousands of views and commenters offering words of encouragement.
Troi later thanked the restaurant for making her feel welcomed during what could have been an embarrassing and upsetting experience.
“Fogo de Chão really took a moment that was honestly pretty disappointing for me … and turned it into such a wonderful experience through their compassion and fantastic customer service,” Troi told TODAY, according to the report.
A Fogo de Chão spokesperson also praised the restaurant’s employees for helping turn the night around, saying the company is focused on making guests feel welcome.
The story has resonated with viewers who have experienced the frustration of being stood up — whether on a romantic date or by a friend.
And for Troi, what started as a disappointing night ended with an unexpected reminder that sometimes a little kindness can go a long way.
