I-10 bridge over San Jacinto River reopens after several barges hit it

TxDOT crews are ready to phase the opening of I-10 at the San Jacinto bridge. Currently, TxDOT is opening two EB lanes on the bridge and work continues to get the two WB lanes open as soon as possible. It is still our goal to have two lanes in each direction open before AM rush. "It follows a similar closure in the past few years, again because of barges that tore loose during floods. "You would think they wouldn't allow barges on the north side of the bridge by now," said Henderson.
