High water shuts down East Freeway in both directions at McCarty Street in Houston

HOUSTON – High water has led to a total closure of the East Freeway in both directions in the Denver Harbor area of Houston.

The closure is happening at McCarty Street.

A Houston Transtar camera at the location shows cars backed up at a bridge with water on the highway.

Avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
