Major crash shut down I-10 East at mile marker 831 in Chambers County

WINNIE, Texas – Emergency crews responded to a major crash that shut down all eastbound lanes of I-10 near the county line on Thursday morning, according to the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office.

The roadway has since reopened.

The sheriff’s office said the crash happened on I-10 eastbound near mile marker 831. Drivers were diverted to SH-73 while first responders worked the scene.

Photos posted by the sheriff’s office showed a large truck overturned on its side across the roadway near a concrete barrier, with a large spill across multiple lanes.
