Houstonian creates Facebook page to help rodeo vendors, a year later it’s thriving
HOUSTON – When the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo was canceled in 2020, many businesses worried they would not make it. This year has proven to be another hurdle for rodeo vendors. “At the time, it was called Houston Rodeo Vendors 2020,” Adams. Houston Rodeo announces $14.1M in scholarships for 2021 educational commitment
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo announced Tuesday the approval of a $21,691,500 educational commitment to support Texas youth and statewide educational programs in 2021. According to a news release, a majority of the funds will be awarded through more than 800 scholarships valued at $14.1 million. In November, officials announced the 2021 season will mainly focus on the Junior Show and select Youth Show events, aligning with its mission of supporting Texas youth. [RELATED: Plans for 2021 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo announced]Recipients of educational program grants include the Houston Symphony, Texas Wildlife Association Foundation as well as other Texas organizations and institutions. Funds awarded to the graduate assistantship programs will be received by 11 universities in Texas including Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M and Texas Tech among others.
This is how RodeoHouston says it’s working toward a safe return in 2021
After abruptly ending its season in the first stages of the coronavirus pandemic, the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo is hopeful to return in 2021. “Together, we can work toward a safe and healthy Rodeo in 2021, but we need your support. In order to have a safe and healthy 2021 Rodeo, here is how you can help to #StaySafeForRodeo,” RodeoHouston said on its website. The pledge includes four recommendations for hopeful attendees to follow before they can buckle up for the rodeo in 2021. Since September, RodeoHouston has reassured the public that planning for the 2021 season is underway.

HOUSTON – A Texas-size job fair offers more than 1,000 jobs during the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, according to a rodeo partner, Staff Scramble. The job fair will be held at NRG Stadium in the Verizon West Club on Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Contemporary Services Corporation and Aramark will be hiring for part-time positions for the rodeo. Hiring managers said they are looking for dedicated, hardworking, team-driven applicants. Candidates will have reserved parking in the Teal lot, gate 14, located on Kirby Drive and Murworth Drive.
