How new windows and doors can help Houstonians beat the heat and keep costs down this summer

Houston – Living in Houston means dealing with heat, humidity and severe storms, and according to David Mallette, owner of The Window Source of Houston, your windows could be playing a bigger role in your home’s comfort than you realize.

Mallette explained that outdated windows can allow heat, dust, and air leaks into the home, especially in older properties with worn seals or aluminum frames.

He says one of the biggest complaints they hear is that certain rooms are much hotter or colder than others. New windows can help block out heat and improve comfort throughout the home, and there are a lot to choose from at the Window Source of Houston’s Showroom in Tomball.

The windows come in a variety of materials, including vinyl, aluminum, and composite options, with designs tailored to different homes and budgets. Mallette also said newer windows can improve functionality for homeowners struggling with windows that are difficult to open or close.

The process, he explained, is often quicker than people expect. After an in-home consultation and measurements, windows are typically ready within two to three weeks, and installation can usually be completed in just a few days.

In addition to windows, the company also offers entry doors and siding designed to improve insulation and energy efficiency. Financing options are available, including some plans with no interest for an introductory period.

Mallette, a former Marine, says integrity and quality workmanship remain central to the company’s approach.

“We focus on doing things right the first time,” he said. “We want customers to feel confident they’re getting a quality product and honest service.”
