HOUSTON – When Don Lewis started noticing bees around the side of his home in southeast Houston, he knew he had a problem.
The bees had built a colony underneath the window of his master bedroom in the 5600 block of Malmedy Road.

Lewis, a retiree from the City of Houston, had been living with the unwanted guests for months.
The challenge was one he could not address on his own which is why he reached out to 2 Helps You.
Enter Bee’n Green, a Houston-area company owned by Travis Feiner, a specialist in removing bees and transplanting them into a new box environment.
It took the bees months to build their home.

As the work continued, the team uncovered the extent of the hive inside the wall. The honeycomb providing clues as to how long the bees had been there. The lighter-colored comb was newer, while the darker comb indicated older sections of the hive. Feiner estimated the bees had been living there for at least six months.
The work was finished when the honeycomb had been removed from inside the wall and the bee colony was gone.
For Lewis, the difference was immediate, “Man, I can sleep tonight. It’s wonderful,” Lewis said, then quickly adding, “Mr. Mario, you came through.”
Lewis, a former City of Houston employee, said he was grateful that Bee’n Green was willing to step in and help, “I thank him so much,” Lewis said as he looked at Travis, “It’s a beautiful thing, man.”
After months of dealing with the bees, Lewis finally had his bedroom back.
