Contractor dies after being injured at ExxonMobil facility in Baytown
BAYTOWN, Texas โ A contract worker died Tuesday after being injured at the ExxonMobil facility in Baytown. KPRC 2 Investigates learned Wednesday that emergency crews responded to the plant on Decker Drive about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday. ExxonMobil officials said in a written statement that the worker was employed by Contech Control Services. The full statement follows:โWe regret that a contractor was fatally injured in an incident that occurred at the ExxonMobil Baytown Complex on February 11, 2020. The person involved was immediately attended to by emergency responders.

BATON ROUGE, La. โ A fire inside an ExxonMobil refinery in Louisiana turned the night sky a shade of orange and sent a large plume of smoke into the air. The fire erupted at the facility in Baton Rouge around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman Curt Monte told news outlets. ExxonMobil is the largest manufacturing employer in Louisiana and its Baton Rouge refinery is the fifth largest in the country, WAFB-TV reported. There was no off-site impact, fire department spokesman Monte said.
