Texas Renaissance Festival Begins October 9
Todd Mission, Texas – The Texas Renaissance Festival begins this weekend on Saturday, October 9 and will be open every weekend through November. The event takes place at 21778 Farm to Market Road 1774 in Todd Mission and will run from 9:00AM to 8:00PM on Saturdays and Sundays. The Texas Renaissance Festival was first held in 1974 in a space a quarter of its current size and with a turnout of 33,000 people. It has run nearly every year since and is now the largest annual Renaissance fair in the United States by attendance, regularly garnering over half a million visitors per year. At approximately 2:40 a.m. Sunday, deputies with the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Texas Renaissance Festival campgrounds in Todd Mission on reports of disturbance. Cimetta and Campbell were acquaintances and traveled to the Renaissance Festival together with friends, according to the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office. The Texas Renaissance Festival released this statement regarding the shooting:An incident occurred at the Texas Renaissance Festival (TRF) Fields of New Market Campground in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 25, 2020. TRF is supporting the investigation, and additional information will be released by the Grimes County Sheriff’s office as details become available.
Multiple Booths Catch Fire at Texas Renaissance Festival
Todd Mission, Texas – A fire broke out on the grounds of the Texas Renaissance Festival near Plantersville, Friday afternoon. Multiple fire departments from Grimes and Montgomery counties responded to reports of a fire around 2:30 PM. Officials say that three booths, #63, #64, and #65 were complete losses. Two additional booths near the Polish Pub area of the festival were damaged. Officials with the Texas Renaissance Festival say they plan to open as scheduled tomorrow for the second weekend of their 46th season.

HOUSTON – The Texas Renaissance Festival is opening this weekend with new guidelines amid the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be no tickets available for purchase at the gate. • TRF will enforce patron mask requirements per the guidelines and mandates of the State of Texas. Seating has been spread out across the festival and venues to accommodate mask removal and social distancing while eating. • TRF will have souvenir and disposable masks available for purchase for patrons that arrive without a mask.

It's that time of year again, time for the Texas Renaissance Festival. — nine fun-filled weekends of visitors going to a rural area of Texas and pretending they live in another century. Organizers, who are indeed anticipating a lot of festival traffic, recommend once again that visitors approach from the north. Many local roads are closed to through traffic, and traffic attempting to get back onto the main roads creates additional congestion to the festival. The 46th season of the Texas Renaissance Festival will open on October 3 and run through November 29, open on Saturdays, Sundays, and Thanksgiving Friday.

With more than 60 weddings scheduled at its expansive location during its 2019 season, the Texas Renaissance Festival realized that its ability to summon up fairy tale weddings and other get togethers was like found money on the ground. And so, it decided to expand from its current five wedding venue options English Garden, Basilica, Rose Garden, Chapel and Water Garden to add The Meadows which will open in Spring 2020 and be available during the off-season months of April through August. By 2021, The Meadows, with a capacity of 200 people, will be opened from January to August once its construction is complete. The present price of wedding packages ranges from $1,500 to $7,500 and depending on the venue can handle seating for 30 to 200 guests.
