The incident happened around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday at the North Loop East service road near the Hardy Toll Road, authorities said in a tweet. The circumstances of the crash are unclear and it is unclear if the person died in the crash or the fire. Police said the westbound service road of the North Loop East and the Hardy Toll Road southbound to the 610 Loop westbound are closed.
Man running from police dead after laying down on freeway, getting hit by 2 vehicles, authorities say
HOUSTON โ A man is dead after police said he ran from them, laid down in the road and got hit by two passing vehicles. The incident happened around 10:22 p.m. Wednesday at a Whataburger on Wayside Drive near the East Freeway in east Houston. Officers arrived at the location at made eye contact with the man, at which point he took off running, authorities said. The man ran onto the main lanes of the East Freeway and crossed the westbound lanes before laying down in the eastbound lanes, authorities said. Authorities said the man was hit by a passing 18-wheeler and then a white sedan.
1 dead, another injured after car slams into light pole in Texas City
TEXAS CITY, Texas โ One person is dead and another is injured after a single-car crash in Texas City. The crash happened around 2:36 a.m. Monday on Highway 146 and FM 1765, according to the Texas City Police Department. The 70-year-old driver was critically injured and had to be transported to a hospital, police said. Police said the Texas City Police Department Major Crash Investigators and Galveston County District Attorneyโs Office because alcohol is believed to have been a factor. The identities of the passenger and driver have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
