2 people dead after crash on the Eastex Freeway

HOUSTON – Two people died in a fiery 2-vehicle crash on I-69 this afternoon in northeast Houston.

HPD tells us that it happened around 4:45 p.m. near Beltway 8.

The crash involved a heavy truck and a passenger vehicle.

The southbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway could be closed for several more hours while HPD investigates.
