Sticky’s Chicken: How these Houston siblings brought a father’s dream of owning a restaurant to reality
“Oh I can do better,” said Ceferino Vivares, father of Patsy and Benson Vivares, now co-owners of Sticky’s Chicken. In 2014, they transformed a used FedEx truck into Sticky’s Chicken and created a menu around its signature sauce. Their signature wings are called the OG Sticky’s Wings, which includes its signature Sticky Sauce. Chicken over rice is its best-seller, which includes sautéed chicken over garlic fried rice topped with sticky’s sauce, aioli and green onion. Sticky’s Chicken is located at 2313 Edwards Street at Sawyer Yards.

Originated in Greece, the pizza cone crust concept has been making its move around the world and was brought to Florida at Conny & Connor. Houstonian Angel Garcia discovered Conny & Connor and knew it had to be introduced in Texas. The pizza cone owner describes this concoction as deliciousness. Aside from satisfying Houstonians with a delicious meal, Conny & Connor is all about giving back to the community.

Cereal lovers rejoice! Houstons first cereal bar is coming to Katy in June
Taste Buds Cereal Bar will have a soft grand opening on June 19 and will be the first cereal brick and mortar shop in Houston to satisfy those with a sweet tooth. During its soft grand opening, the cereal bar will feature a limited menu and its one-of-kind Taste Bud Creations. Taste Buds Cereal Bar will also be providing specials to graduates, students and teachers. The cereal bar will be operating daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and close on Sundays. Its menu features bingsu, rice dogs, cheese dogs, taiyaki and so much more. For me, this was a first, especially the squid ink dog. I was given five hot dogs to try, a Volcano, Squid Ink, Sweet Potato, Ramen Noodle and Mozzarella rice dog. As for the squid ink, it wasn’t bad, there were no actual squids in the recipe, but the batter was made out of squid ink, which is used in a lot Japenese and Mediterranean dishes and has potential health benefits.
