Like, really play? "I'm really not afraid of hard work and competition and my ultimate goal is to play on the LPGA Tour." I've been talking with TCU and Texas State a lot. "I used to run for The Woodlands cross country team and I'm really into working out," she said. For now, she's grinding away on the AJGA circuit in the Texas heat chasing her dream.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas Three weeks ago, The Woodlands High School freshman volleyball player Julieta Valdes suffered a heart attack while working out with her sister. I was doing triceps push-ups, and I stood up and fell right back down.Valdes sister called for an ambulance. Although Valdes has arrhythmia, the heart attack was a shock. After being hooked up to machines and in a coma, Julieta Valdes was finally able to hug her family and come home on Monday after three weeks in the hospital. Valdes knows the recovery journey will be a long one.

"Good, I'm really happy to be getting to my release date and getting to go home," "It's been a long three weeks. I'm feeling great, I'm finally off tubes and I'm really excited. According to Valdes' post on her GoFundMe page she has always lived with arrhythmia, an abnormal beating of the heart. Valdes doesn't remember anything from that day as her family has had to fill in the blanks. Its truly amazing, Valdes said.

On Monday night, it was made public that The Woodlands volleyball player Julieta Valdes is in the fight for her life after suffering a heat attack and going into cardiac arrest on Sunday. Valdes was a big piece to The Woodlands volleyball program this past season as a freshman and is a member of the Houston Juniors VBC 16 Elite Team. She has an older brother and sister, Xavier and Patty, according to the GoFundMe page. "We predict there will be many challenges in the future," the creator of the page wrote. — VolleyHigh (@volley_high) May 5, 2020An update on Valdes' status was posted to the GoFundMe page on Tuesday morning.

The Woodlands, Texas Shortly before 5pm Tuesday evening, fire crews with The Woodlands Fire Department were dispatched to The Woodlands High School, 9th Grade campus for smoke in the area. Arriving fire crews found approximately two acres of fast moving brush fire near Ashlane Way. Additional crews were requested, including an all-terrain vehicle. THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The former girls basketball coach at The Woodlands High School pleaded guilty to three charges of sexual assault of a child.Richard Chiamulera, 32, was indicted May 9. Chiamulera was the coach of the girls basketball team and also taught English. Outside of school hours, he invited the girl, then 16, to his apartment, where he sexually assaulted her. Chiamulera accepted a plea offer that will keep him in prison for 13 years for each of the three sexual assault of a child charges.
