Humble ISD students build tiny homes for veterans experiencing homelessness
HUMBLE, Texas – Humble Independent School District students are hammering out better futures for area veterans. Some students at Kingwood Park High School and Summer Creek High School are building tiny homes for homeless heroes and it’s not just an act of kindness, it’s also being used as a teaching tool. Tuesday morning, U.S. Air Force Veteran Jeffrey Jacobs toured his future home that’s currently under construction at Kingwood Park High school. “Service is the heart of our school and this project just symbolizes all of that,” said Principal of Kingwood Park High School, Lisa Drabing. The home was designed by Kingwood Park High School student, Parker Ryan.
Humble ISD staff preparing for in-person learning in 2 weeks
HUMBLE, Texas – Humble ISD students started virtually on Tuesday and schools were preparing for in-person learning in two weeks. Even with empty classrooms and hallways for now, there’s an excitement at Summer Creek High School. “I’ve just decided, I’m going to enjoy my school year, no matter what’s going on,” said Nathan Wooley. Classes will begin with middle and high school students on a split schedule. Principal McDonald had a message for Humble ISD families.
Humble ISD students begin 2020 school year Tuesday
HUMBLE, Texas – Students at Humble Independent School District started virtually on Tuesday. On a normal year, the drill team at Summer Creek High School would’ve started weeks earlier, but this year, practices were delayed and they made major changes. “Seeing them dance, seeing this magic, this passion that they have, the passion that I share with them, so that’s what exactly what I’m looking forward to.”But this year is different in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. “A little difficult at the beginning but it ended up working out, I have my team of 60,” said Aranda. The district is allowing students who are learning virtually to take part in extracurricular activities.

Humble ISD, Katy ISD set to restart Strength & Conditioning Camps Wednesday
"I got word late this afternoon that we had the green light to start tomorrow if we'd like," Humble ISD Athletic Director Troy Kite said about restarting Strength & Conditioning Camps. As of 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Katy ISD and Humble ISD had announced their intentions to restart Strength & Conditioning Camps starting Wednesday, July 29. The very next tweet on their timeline, quoting Humble ISD Athletics Tuesday announcement - "WE'RE BACK!!!!! For Humble ISD, the district had been hosting Strength & Conditioning Camps since June 8, when the University Interscholastic League made it where those could resume. Humble ISD has been very active in getting input from the parents of their students through surveys that have been conducted throughout the summer.

New Caney coach Tricia Mize passed away on Wednesday night due to Stage 4 liver cancer, which was first reported by the Conroe Courier, leaving a son, Mason, and a daughter, Micha. "I gave her a tough time after that last game at New Caney," Wolfe said. "She's just a great person, just hands down a great person that cares about her kids," Wolfe said.
