Landry left from Texas State to return home for the Christmas break Sunday night. “He’s alone, he doesn’t have his phone or His wallet, and it’s cold outside,” Jason’s mother, Lisa Landry said. “Maybe he’s hurt.”Her husband, Kent Landry, is the senior pastor at the Southminster Presbyterian Church in Missouri City. The Landry family moved to Missouri City a little over a decade ago. Jason, the youngest of three siblings, is in his third year at Texas State.

Family of man killed by girlfriend’s ex-husband struggling to cope with his death

HOUSTON – The family of a Missouri City man who police say was killed by his girlfriend’s ex-husband Monday said they urged him last week to end his relationship. Now, Martez Hurt’s family is heading to Texas from Washington, D.C. to retrieve his body. This past March, Fort Bend County deputies received three domestic violence calls concerning Jacobs and his unnamed ex-wife, officials said. Their emergency shelters are currently full due to social-distancing, but they are providing hotel accommodations to domestic violence survivors. Domestic violence survivors are urged to call the 24/7 emergency hotline for help at 281-342-HELP.

Man wanted in fatal shooting of his ex-wife’s new boyfriend in Sienna turns himself in

SIENNA, Texas – A man being sought in connection with Monday’s fatal shooting in Sienna has turned himself in to authorities. Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls said Matthew Reshon Jacobs, 32, surrendered to authorities at the Missouri City Police Department. Jacobs is accused of gunning down his ex-wife’s new boyfriend outside a home in the 2500 block of Amethyst Isle Lane and then fleeing the scene. Nehls said Jacobs followed his ex-wife and her new boyfriend into the neighborhood and then an argument began. Nehls said surveillance video showed the fatal shooting, which he described as an “execution.”Deputies have identified the victim as 28-year-old Martez Hurt.

Back 2 School: School bus safety tips for drivers

HOUSTON Its been a problem in this neighborhood, according to Fort Bend County resident Dina Gusten. She lives in the Sienna neighborhood and says shes seen a significant amount of crashes in the Sienna Village of Anderson Springs. I am concerned about drivers and I think everyone needs to be on the same page and be re-educated on what theyre supposed to do since school is coming up, Gusten said. This is why its so important to share this information with drivers, as select students will be heading back to school soon. So, here are the dos and donts, according to Texas Department of Transportation:

Sienna couple creates small business to make face masks while out of work

“People need all these masks and we’re making them.”With posts on social media and now a website, business is booming. In two days, they recently cut 3,500 masks for customers ranging from individuals, small businesses and the military. "We sent 300 to the navy so far," Micahl Wyckoff said.
