A man has been arrested and charged after a Galveston County Sheriffโs Office deputy was injured at Galvestonโs Jeep Weekend at Crystal Beach Sunday morning, according to Sheriff Henry Trouchesset.

Galvestonโs top doctor wants to give priority boarding on the Galveston-Bolivar ferry to people who have received the COVID-19 vaccine. โWeโll work out a deal with the ferry so that people (who) get vaccinated, get on the ferry first,โ said Dr. Philip Keise with the Galveston County Health Authority. Keiser is floating the idea and says they need creative ways like this one to get as many people vaccinated as quickly as possible.
