Man in SUV killed after crashing into concrete barrier in southwest Houston, police say
HOUSTON – A man is dead after the SUV he was driving crashed into a concrete barrier on a bridge in southwest Houston Sunday, police said. The crash happened Bissonnet near Gessner around 11 p.m.Investigators said a firefighter witnessed the vehicle speeding down the roadway and the crash. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he died, police said. Police said they’re investigating whether the man was drinking while behind the wheel.

Answer: Terrence lives on the Southwest part of town and wanted to know why the Southwest Freeway keeps getting shut down for construction on the weekends. I spoke to the Department of Transportation and they said, the construction taking place between Gessner and Fondren is not part of the interchange project with the West Loop. The project is planned to be complete by the end of December/beginning of next year, weather depending.
1 person dead after car crashes into back of tow truck in southwest Houston, police say
HOUSTON – One person is dead after a crash involving a tow truck in southwest Houston Thursday, police said. Officers said it happened on the Beltway near Gessner around 1 a.m. According to investigators, officers and a tow truck were assisting a car that broke down. While the wrecker was sitting in the shoulder of the freeway, officers said a Hyundai sedan came up from behind and slammed into the back of it. Police said the driver of the Hyundai died at the scene.
