New Braunfels Canyon leaned on its home field advantage and stifling defense to take the early lead and never relinquished it. At 8:04, Micah Williford ran over half the field on a 55-yard touchdown run to extend the New Braunfels Canyon lead to 10-0. Even with the slight diversion, New Braunfels Canyon refocused to take its largest lead in the early minutes of the third quarter. The Panthers also nearly recovered an onside kick before Loos grabbed the football to wrap up New Braunfels Canyon's victory. Dripping Springs and New Braunfels Canyon met for the third time on the volleyball court in 68 days on Saturday December 5, 2020. "We talked about seeing ourselves here," said Dripping Springs head volleyball coach Michael Kane. Dripping Springs had less prep for district competition in 2020 compared to past seasons, so it took its players some time to find a groove. Now, Dripping Springs turns its attention to 2019 UIL 4A state champ Fulshear in a 2020 UIL 5A state semifinal match.
