Members of 1960 Crosby football team hope this year’s squad can finish what they started
“When we went into the playoffs, the whole town went,” said Wiggins, smiling. Now, Crosby is heading back to State for the first time since their 1960 run, and that brings back a lot of good memories. Now, Janik and Wiggins hope this group can finish what they started. “We’re excited to finish what somebody else wasn’t able to finish, and having the chance to do that is amazing,” Branch said. There’s no doubt the small town of Crosby will be supporting their boys, just like they did six decades ago.

Crosby High School closed for cleaning through end of the week; in-person classes resume Monday
CROSBY, Texas – Students and staff at Crosby High School will be staying home until Monday due to campus closure. According to the Crosby Independent School District, the school closed Wednesday and will remain closed through the end of the week for cleaning. Davis gave a statement to KPRC 2 that said, in part:“Using a percentage of .2% of the campus’s capacity provides the daily numbers with which to calculate the rolling average. Yes, that is conservative, but we are also living out these procedures in real-time as we work through this unprecedented school year. Once we return from the closure, we reset the average to begin again for that campus.”

Cody's Law: Heart screenings available for HS athletes
CROSBY, Texas (KTRK) -- Starting this year, high school athletes across Texas will be able to request electrocardiogram heart screenings during their required yearly physical exams. All thanks to House Bill 76, named for Cody Stephens, who wore number 76 on his Crosby High School football jersey.Stephens died in 2012 due to an undiagnosed heart condition.Since then, Cody's father, Scott, has been fighting to get more screening for student athletes. "Cody had a sports physical every year, passed it with flying colors," said Stephens. "All these kids who have died on the field, how many of them pass their sports physical? "For a while, you just walk into walls and you just try to breathe," explained Stephen. I believe that if Cody would have lived, he would have done a lot of great things.
