Volunteers add the special ingredient to every Houston Habitat for Humanity Home. That ingredient? Love. Houston Habitat for Humanity partners with KPRC 2 to help make dreams come true
HOUSTON โ For the 8th year, KPRC 2 partners with the Houston Habitat for Humanity to help build homes for deserving families in the area. Allison Hay, Executive Director of Houston Habitat for Humanity, explained how their organization is helping local families build a better future by providing homes to those in need. The staff at KPRC 2, Houston Life and community members pitched in to build walls and other components of the homes needed to make this a possibility. Since 1987, individuals, businesses and groups in the Houston community have joined Houston Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place people call home. KPRC 2 proudly partnered with Houston Habitat for Humanity in 2020 marking the seventh consecutive year weve helped build a home for a deserving local family. This years home belongs to Adriane Marks, a mother of two who lost nearly everything during Hurricane Harvey. About Houston Habitat for HumanityHouston Habitat for Humanity homes are not handouts. Helping Hammers: Dedication ceremony to be held for Habitat home KPRC 2 helped build for local family Wednesday
HOUSTON For months, KPRC 2 and Habitat for Humanity have worked to build a home for a local family in need as part of a station tradition that has spanned seven years in a row. A dedication ceremony will be held for the home that volunteers started building in January, Wednesday in northeast Houston. KPRC 2s build partners will give a recorded message for the family, which will be played on a monitor onsite. Day 4 of construction on Houston Habitat build in northeast Houston
HOUSTON โ It was a beautiful day four of the Houston Habitat for Humanity home build in northeast Houston. With their hard hats and work gloves on, volunteers with Frontier Utilities and Shipley Do-nuts put in hours of hard work Friday. They installed part of the walls and trusses on the 6th Annual KPRC Houston Habitat Home. Frontier Utilities had been sponsoring the event for three years and it will help the Vessel Family even more. "We use the "Ship," the kinda, the "Ship" philosophy -- service, honor, integrity and the people, so we're doing that today.

Single mother of 2 helps work on own Habitat for Humanity home
HOUSTON โ The Gomez family is about to get news that will change their lives. It's a chance to live the American dream -- thanks to hard work and support from Houston Habitat for Humanity. This is the fourth year in a row KPRC has participated in a Habitat build. "We're gonna be outside a lot. Outside," Gomez said.
