Weekend construction: 3 areas Houston drivers will want to avoid

HOUSTON – Road construction in Metro Houston continues in full force this weekend, with three specific locations that could cause you delays. Weekend construction at the Southwest Freeway/West Loop interchange continues this weekend. In addition, the southbound West Loop frontage road between Richmond and Westpark will be closed. The southbound feeder on the West Loop between Richmond and Westpark Drive will be closed all weekend. I-10/I-45 InterchangeThe connector ramps from eastbound and westbound I-10 to northbound I-45 will be closed this weekend.

Weekend Construction: Road work impacting Greater Fifth Ward, southeast Houston

The Lawndale Street Bridge construction includes replacement of the current bridge with a new bridge that will have four 11-feet wide lanes, two 6-feet bike lanes, and 10-foot sidewalks on both sides of the bridge. Some relief for drivers as TxDOT adjusts time of weekend construction on 610 near Southwest Fwy

HOUSTON – The weekend construction on Interstate 610 at the Interstate 69 that has been causing major delays for drivers has been adjusted, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. TxDOT said starting Friday at 9 p.m. the total closure for West Loop northbound and Southwest Freeway southbound will be limited to weekend nights. All of the main lanes will reopen each morning at 5 a.m.For the past two weeks, the areas had been shut down continuously Friday to Monday morning. For more information, visit HOU610at69.com

Weekend road work: Here are 4 spots Houston drivers will want to avoid

West Loop at U.S. 59/I-69For the second weekend in a row, the West Loop will be closed at the Southwest Freeway. West Loop traffic through Uptown will be snarled, but less so. Southbound traffic will be able to access the Southwest Freeway this weekend and all exits through Uptown will remain open. Alternate routes across the Southwest Freeway in this part of town include Chimney Rock, Rice Avenue, Newcastle and Weslayan. The connector ramps from the Eastex Freeway (U.S. 59/I-69) to I-10 eastbound will also be closed.
