1 killed by suspected tornado as storms rake South for second week in a row
HEADLAND, Ala. – Suspected tornadoes killed at least two people as severe weather blasted the Deep South, and a house fire believed started by lightning claimed a third person, officials said Monday. “He was in a mobile home, and the mobile home was destroyed by a tornado. The National Weather Service said it had received reports of large hail and broken power poles in the area, and emergency management officials said 20 homes were damaged. Teams from the National Weather Service will assess tracks to determine where tornadoes struck. The storms hit a week after a two-day outbreak of more than 100 tornadoes that began Easter Sunday killed at least 36 people across the region.

HOUSTON – Severe thunderstorms passed through the Houston-area, causing damage and power outages. Where damage was reported:There were some reports of damage overnight in the Houston area. Officials say there was damage to the inside of the home after water flowed in from the damaged roof. Here’s a look at the unofficial wind speeds recorded overnight in and around Houston. At least three homes were destroyed by the Arkansas tornado, said Logan County Emergency Management Coordinator Tobi Miller, but no injuries were reported.
