Today’s forecast:

Your weather team is tracking a real but low severe weather threat today. We’re watching a 30% chance of rain Saturday. Basically, it’s rain for some not all. And that will be theme for us on Sunday as well.

But regardless of where you live - you will feel the heat and humidity this weekend. We’re waking up in the 70s this weekend, but thanks to Sunday’s front - our morning lows will drop into the 60s as we get into our workweek.

Saturday’s Severe Thunderstorms: We’re tracking a low but real severe weather threat - much like the past couple of days. A lot of rich tropical moisture sits on top of us, but we’re out of the main storm track. Please keep in mind, if storms do form over Houston, they will be strong.

Mother’s Day Sunday:

Sunday, Mother’s Day, starts great! But Sunday night a cold front moves through. This front will bring a line rain and thunderstorms. Our northern cities have a chance of hail and strong winds. The storms will weaken the closer they get to the coast.

Looking ahead into next week, expect a drier weather pattern but the mugginess will stick around with temperatures forecast to range between 84 to 88 degrees. Next chance of rain is Sunday May 17th.
