DEPUTY KILLED

The trial for a man accused of fatally shooting Harris County sheriff’s deputy Sandeep Dhaliwal during a traffic stop in northwest Harris County three years ago begins Monday.

The suspected drunken driver accused of fatally striking a sergeant from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office violated conditions of her bond after traces of alcohol were reported in her system, court documents and sources with direct knowledge of the case confirmed Thursday to KPRC2.

Condolences from other agencies as well as Houston and Texas leaders are pouring in after a Harris County Sheriff’s deputy was killed in a crash involving an 18-wheeler on SH-249 Wednesday afternoon.

HCSO Sheriff Ed Gonzalez identified the deputy as 27-year-old Harris County native Robert Adam Howard. Howard was a Cypress Woods High School graduate.
