There will be multiple lane closures this weekend in Fort Bend Co. & the north side of town.

Authorities say a car was trapped underneath an 18-wheeler in southwest Houston Wednesday afternoon.

Traffic is slow on the South Sam Houston Tollway westbound at Bellfort Friday. The left shoulder, left lane and center lane are closed as authorities try to clean up a crash in the area.

Three left lanes of Beltway 8 at Cullen have reopened after a deputy’s patrol car fatally struck a horse that was in the roadway early Sunday morning.

A suspect and an innocent driver are dead after a police chase ended in a fiery crash in northwest Houston.

HOUSTON – A man who robbed a gas station in northwest Harris County Wednesday and led deputies on a high-speed chase was arrested, Harris County sheriff’s deputies said. District 5 deputies said a Circle K Gas Station in the 9000 block of Jones Road was robbed by a suspect armed with a gun. Deputies said they located the suspect with the help of a 3SI tracker, which was inside the bag of stolen money. When deputies tried to pull over the suspect, investigators said he hit the gas and led deputies on a high-speed chase, at times reaching speeds over 140 miles per hour. After he attempted to flee on foot, deputies said the suspect was caught and taken into custody.

HOUSTON – One person is dead after a crash involving a tow truck in southwest Houston Thursday, police said. Officers said it happened on the Beltway near Gessner around 1 a.m. According to investigators, officers and a tow truck were assisting a car that broke down. While the wrecker was sitting in the shoulder of the freeway, officers said a Hyundai sedan came up from behind and slammed into the back of it. Police said the driver of the Hyundai died at the scene.

HOUSTON Police said a woman was killed in a wrong-way crash in southwest Houston Wednesday. Officers said the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on the southbound lanes of the Beltway near Westheimer. According to investigators, a woman was driving and going the wrong way. Police said the woman slammed head-on into a man driving a pickup truck. Police said the man she crashed into was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

HOUSTON – A construction worker has died after falling from a bridge in south Harris County. According to authorities, the incident happened just before 5 a.m. Friday on Highway 288 and the Beltway. Police said the man was working in the area when he accidentally fell from the Beltway overpass and landed over 30 feet below. It is unclear if he fell from the new construction or the current overpass. Investigators are working to determine what caused the worker to fall from the overpass.
