Authorities are responding to a major gas leak in the Tomball area after a gas line was struck, prompting a multi-agency response Tuesday.
Deputies with Harris County Constable Precinct 4, led by Constable Mark Herman, are assisting Tomball Police Department and the Tomball Fire Department at the scene near W Lake Run Boulevard and Shaw Road.
Officials say the leak occurred after a gas line was accidentally struck. It is unclear what led to the incident or how long repairs may take.
Nearby Wildwood Elementary School has been secured, and authorities confirm there are no gas-related issues on campus at this time.
Residents are urged to avoid the area while crews work to contain the leak and ensure the safety of the surrounding community.
