HOUSTON – Firefighters with the Houston Fire Department worked to remove a horse from a septic hole Sunday.
Department officials said the owner of the horse was riding it when it fell into the 6-by-6-foot hole in the 5000 block of Scott Street around 4:30 p.m.
Officials worked for more than an hour to rescue the horse.
Firefighters said as rescue crews worked to get the horse out of the hole, the owner became belligerent, and the Houston Police Department was called.
Officials said the horse was left in the custody of animal control and the owner is in the custody of HPD.
