HOUSTON – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported two men wanted for homicide in Mexico on July 21, 2026, following separate immigration enforcement actions out of the agency’s Houston Field Office.
Agustin Morales-Renteria and Juan Becerra Ruiz, both 24 years old, were transported from the Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe, Texas, to the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge in Laredo, Texas, where Mexican authorities took custody of both men. Morales-Renteria is wanted in Mexico for aggravated homicide, while Becerra Ruiz faces a warrant for intentional homicide out of Querétaro, Mexico.

“Under my watch, Southeast Texas will never become a safe haven for dangerous criminal illegal alien foreign fugitives like these two, regardless of the misinformation and lies being spread over the past couple of weeks by open borders and anti-immigration enforcement groups trying to demonize our officers and undermine our mission,” Martinez said.
“In conjunction with our partners, our officers continue to drown out the noise and give everything they have to enforce our nation’s immigration laws without prejudice, while prioritizing enforcement actions that enhance public safety, national security, and border security,” he continued. “As a result of their efforts, these two fugitives will now face justice for their alleged crimes, providing closure to the friends and families of their alleged victims.”
Morales-Renteria first entered the U.S. illegally on or about Sept. 21, 2021, and was expelled the same day under COVID-19 health protocols then in place under Title 42. A regional attorney general’s office in Mexico issued a warrant for his arrest for aggravated homicide on Oct. 19, 2021. He illegally reentered the U.S. on or about Oct. 15, 2021, according to ICE.
On Dec. 4, 2024, ICE encountered Morales-Renteria at a sheriff’s office in Jackson County, Missouri, following his arrest for tampering with a motor vehicle and felony possession of a controlled substance. No action was taken at the time, according to ICE, due to immigration enforcement priorities then in place under the Biden administration.
On Nov. 4, 2025, Morales-Renteria was convicted of being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm and sentenced to 18 months in federal prison. Following his sentence, he was transferred into ICE custody May 21, 2026. An immigration judge ordered his removal on July 2, and ICE carried out that order on July 21.
Becerra Ruiz entered the U.S. illegally on an unknown date and at an unknown location. A warrant was issued for his arrest in Querétaro, Mexico, on Oct. 21, 2022, for intentional homicide. In May 2026, U.S. Border Patrol received notice of the warrant and of Becerra Ruiz’s location in the Houston area.
On June 4, Border Patrol agents detained him during a traffic stop in Spring, Texas, and transferred custody to ICE. An immigration judge ordered his removal to Mexico on June 30, and ICE completed the order on July 21.
