Country superstar Parker McCollum surprises nurses ahead of National Nurses Week

HOUSTON – What started as a small gathering quickly turned into the surprise of a lifetime at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, when hometown country star Parker McCollum made an unexpected visit to personally thank frontline healthcare workers for all they do.

The room quickly filled with smiles as the nurses realized this was no ordinary appreciation event.

McCollum took time to connect, express his gratitude, and shine a spotlight on the people who show up every day to care for others in some of life’s most critical moments. He also personally passed out new sets of scrubs to each of the nurses in the room.

The visit is part of the Healthcare Heroes Initiative, a nationwide effort aimed at recognizing nurses and frontline workers in meaningful ways. And the timing couldn’t be more fitting, with National Nurses Week right around the corner, running May 6–12.

The Texas native is also gearing up for the 61st annual Academy of Country Music Awards, where he’s nominated for Album of the Year—making this heartfelt stop in his home region even more special.

A hometown star showing up for hometown heroes—proof that sometimes the most meaningful moments don’t happen on stage, but in the everyday places where gratitude matters most.

Thanks to the team at Create Amor, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands, and Woodforest National Bank for hosting this event.
