Round Top Film Festival co-founders share how it all began

HOUSTON – Mother-daughter duo Shanna and Skylar Schanen have deep Texas roots. They also share a passion for two things in particular: Round Top and filmmaking.

One evening, while enjoying some wine on the back porch of their country house, Shanna and Skylar dreamed up an idea that has now become a reality: the Round Top Film Festival.

Now in its second year, the festival is already gaining momentum; the co-founders say they’ve met visitors who have traveled from all over the world to enjoy the three-day festival.

This year more than 40 films were screened and panels included stunt actors and costume designers.
