MACC: Meat, acid, cheese, and crunch

Houston – A charcuterie board can elevate any gathering, especially if it’s during the holidays. Simple ingredients like meat and cheese can be paired with some of your favorite finger foods.

While it is a fool-proof way to ‘wow’ your guests, there is one thing to remember when figuring out the perfect bite. That’s the acronym MACC. It stands for meat, acid, cheese, and crunch.

Entertaining expert Paul Zahn stopped by ahead of the holidays to guide our hosts through making a simple “jar-cuterie” and “choc-uterie” The sweet and savory versions are enough to satisfy the grinches of the family.

Zahn showed us how to create the perfect bite, then demonstrated it in a jar-cuterie perfect for two (or one), and then shared the very cute idea to make a “choc-uterie” using clear ornaments as a personalized way of enjoying a sweet charcuterie.
