LOS ANGELES – Actor Woody Harrelson, who grew up in Bellaire, said Tuesday he is backing his hometown team in the World Series.
KPRC 2 Reporter Jake Reiner, who is in Los Angeles to cover the Astros-Dodgers series, ran into Harrelson at the airport and asked him about the matchup.
“I’m very excited as a Houstonian that we’re back in the World Series, and maybe this will be the one,” Harrelson said.
Harrelson, of course, has lived in California for many years but said he’s not conflicted about backing the Astros.
“My natural inclination is that my loyalties have to lie with the Astros,” Harrelson said. “I really hope they pull it off this time.”
The Astros are playing in baseball’s biggest series for the first time since 2005, and are looking for the team’s first World Series title.
The Dodgers bested the Astros in Game 1 on Tuesday night. Game 2 at Dodger Stadium begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
