Missing India soldier's body found on glacier after 38 years
The remains of an Indian army soldier have been found more than 38 years after he went missing on a glacier at the highest point along the heavily militarized contested border between India and Pakistan in Kashmir, officials said Wednesday. The soldier and 17 other colleagues were occupying a ridge on Siachen Glacier, high in the Karakoram range in disputed Kashmir's Ladakh region, in May 1984 when they were hit by an avalanche, officials said. A team of soldiers on Monday found human remains at the glacier with an identity disc saying they belonged to Chandra Shekhar, one of the missing men, the Indian army said.news.yahoo.com

Attorney: Missing Fort Hood soldier’s body found in Texas
Elder Fernandes, 23, was found late Tuesday in Temple, according to local police. Fernandes is the third soldier from Fort Hood to go missing in the past year. Natalie Khawam, who is representing the Fernandes family, said Army police told family members about the discovery late Tuesday night. U.S. Army officials confirmed Wednesday that initial identification points to the body found being Fernandes and said they were grieving with the Fernandes family. According to Isabel Fernandes, the family was told by Army officials that a different superior signed her nephew's hospital release.

Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen promoted to specialist, Army says
FORT HOOD, Texas Vanessa Guillen, the Fort Hood soldier from Houston who has been missing since April, received a promotion due to her time in service, according to the U.S. Army. In a news release, the Army said that Guillen was promoted to specialist, effective Wednesday. The remains have yet to be identified, but Guillens family said they believe they belong to her. According to the Army, another suspect in the case is the estranged wife of a former Fort Hood soldier, who is in custody and awaiting charges. There will be a 2 p.m. news conference to address the current status of the investigation.
