A Houston area woman who says she created diverse emoji is suing Apple for copyright infringement. Her app, which launched in the Apple app store in October 2013, features emoji with five skin tones. AdIn 2015, Apple launched their own set of diverse emojis with five skin tones. In court filings, the company said it developed diverse skin tone emoji on its own and did not copy her work. Apple argues that Parrott does not have claim to the copyright of skin tone emoji and that โcopyright does not protect the idea of applying five different skin tones to emoji because ideas are not copyrightable.โ

Liberty County woman accused of killing her father who she said committed suicide
LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas โ A man is dead in Liberty County and authorities say his daughter has admitted to shooting him after making initial claims that heโd committed suicide. The Liberty County Sheriffโs Office said it received a 911 call around 2:10 a.m. Friday Ciera Eaton, 35. Authorities said she told them her father, 64-year-old Michael Eaton had just committed suicide at their mobile home on CR 4533 in south Liberty County. After an initial investigation and evidence found at the scene, the sheriffโs office said deputies began to question Ciera Eatonโs suicide story. Ciera Eaton has been charged with murder and is now in the Liberty County Jail.
Man convicted of sending death threats to Dutch princess
THE HAGUE โ A man who sent death threats to the Dutch king's eldest daughter, Princess Amalia, was sentenced Tuesday to three months imprisonment and ordered to undergo psychiatric treatment. The Overijssel District Court convicted the 32-year-old man of sending threats via Instagram to the 16-year-old heir to the Dutch throne and one of her friends. โHe threatened her with rape and threatened both of them with death,โ said Ronald van Vuure, a judge at the court authorized to speak to the media. โThe court concluded that he developed a very unhealthy obsession with the Royal House and in particular Princess Amalia,โ Van Vuure added in a statement posted on the court's website. The man's identity was not released, in line with Dutch privacy rules.
