Tyler Perry has donated $100,000 to the legal defense fund of Breonna Taylor's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, after police fatally shot Taylor inside her apartment earlier this year. Mattingly was shot in the thigh in the March 13 police raid in which Taylor was killed while at home. Walker told "CBS This Morning" co-host Gayle King that he asked police to identify themselves several times, but never got an answer. Three officers fired a combined 32 shots into the apartment, with "bullets coming in every direction," Walker said. Police charged Walker with attempted murder of a police officer, but never told him directly that Taylor was killed.

Cars line up for miles for Tyler Perry Thanksgiving food giveaway

ATLANTA โ€“ Thousands of people jammed roads for miles in Atlanta on Sunday to try to get boxes of food and gift cards donated by entertainer Tyler Perry. Tyler Perry Studios said they had enough boxes of canned vegetables and $25 gift cards for 5,000 families to drive through and pick up. The studio said it was out of food by 10 a.m. Sunday. The line started forming Saturday and at one point stretched for 5 miles (8 kilometers) south of downtown Atlanta, media outlets reported. "Johnson went into diabetic shock while on a Carnival cruise, so he was rushed to a hospital in the Yucatan peninsula.The bill came out to $14,000 and the hospital will not allow the couple to leave until the bill is paid in full. "They locked the windows and so far we just can't leave until this $14,000 dollar bill is paid," Austin said.When Perry heard about the couple's ordeal, he quickly jumped into action and told them that he would pay their hospital expenses.After Perry made the offer, the hospital said Johnson still requires more care, so unfortunately the couple is still there.

Michael Jordan pledges $1M to help battered Bahamas

"I am devastated to see the destruction that Hurricane Dorian has brought to the Bahamas, where I own property and visit frequently," Jordan said in a statement from his manager, Estee Portnoy, on Twitter. Jordan also gave a $2 million donation to support North Carolina after Hurricane Florence last year. The NBA GOAT joins other celebrities who have donated money to the Bahamas after Dorian. Hurricane Dorian left more than 70,000 people homeless in the Bahamas, and at least 50 people have died.
