A Harris County judge has denied bond Wednesday for an 18-year-old student charged with murder after prosecutors say he stabbed his 16-year-old classmate with scissors during a fight at Ross S. Sterling High School in Baytown.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that Aundre Matthews will face murder charges in connection with the death of Andrew Meismer.

Parents and students from Ross S. Sterling High School are voicing frustration over how the campus handled a stabbing in a classroom that left 16-year-old Andrew Meismer dead.

According to court documents, Casteneda tried to hit the 16-year-old student but missed. The student then hit him and a fight broke out between the two.
