Former Klein ISD student wins $90,000 settlement following claims she was harassed for sitting out Pledge of Allegiance
A former Klein ISD student has won a $90,000 settlement years after a lawsuit was filed claiming she was subjected to harassment and discrimination for sitting out the Pledge of Allegiance, according to the civil rights group American Atheists.
Two-Dozen Coronavirus Cases Reported at Klein Oak High School
Spring, Texas – Two-dozen positive Coronavirus cases have been reported at Klein Oak High School (KOHS) which has led to the cancelation and postponement of several sporting events. The football games versus Atascosita on Thursday, October 8th, and Friday, October 9th have been canceled. The schools next scheduled varsity football game will be a district game on Thursday, October 15th versus Klein Forest High School. “Given the current situation with some of our Klein Oak athletes, we worked together with the other schools and agreed to prioritize the health and safety of everyone involved,” Klein Oak Athletic Coordinator Jason Glenn said. The district says there are no plans to close Klein Oak High School given the current data.

17-Year-Old Klein Oak High School Student Dies from Injuries after Hood Surfing in School Parking Lot
10/17/2019 3:00 PM UPDATE: There is an immense amount of false information being spread across social media regarding this incident, the biggest being that the 17-year-old student passed away. Spring, Texas A Klein Oak High School student is in critical condition after hood surfing in the parking lot of a neighboring school, officials said. The incident unfolded in the parking lot of Hildebrandt Intermediate School in the 22800 block of Hildebrandt Road, which is next door to Klein Oak High School. Officials say that the 17-year-old student was riding on the hood of a vehicle that was being driven by another KOHS student. According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzales, the male student sustained a serious head injury.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A 17-year-old Klein Oak High School student was taken to an area hospital Wednesday after he fell off the hood of a car in the parking lot of Hildebrandt Intermediate School. Officials said the teen and his friends were "hood surfing." The teen's 17-year-old friend was driving a red Mini Cooper between 25 and 35 mph when he slammed on the brakes, sending the teen on the hood flying off the car, according to authorities. The teen landed head first on the asphalt. The teen was taken to an area hospital with severe injuries, authorities said.
