KATY, Texas – Thousands of customers experienced power outages Wednesday morning, according to CenterPoint Energy’s outage map.
At one point, the outage map showed more than 30,000 customers without power.

At 10:38 a.m., more than 11,000 customers remained without electricity. The number of outages continued to decline Wednesday morning.
The ZIP codes with the highest number of outages as of 10:30 a.m. were:
- 77450: About 13,000 outages
- 77094: About 10,000 outages
- 77449: About 3,500 outages
- 77494: About 3,000 outages
All of the hardest-hit ZIP codes are in and around the Katy area.
CenterPoint told KPRC 2 power was restored as of 10:40 a.m. The problem was due to a transmission issue.
CenterPoint Energy released the following statement to customers:
“We are aware of a power issue at or near 20102 Carmelite Ct that is affecting 2,886 customers. We estimate that your power will be restored no later than Aug. 5 at 12:44 p.m. Please note that the actual time required may vary depending on hazardous conditions or the nature of repairs needed.”
