Fuel spill involving tractor-trailer closes westbound lanes of U.S. 90 Alternate in Fort Bend County

Drivers traveling through Fort Bend County should expect delays after a fuel spill involving a tractor-trailer prompted a hazardous materials response Wednesday morning.

The Fort Bend County Hazmat Response Team is assisting at the scene near U.S. 90 Alternate and Behrens Road in Beasley.

Officials said the westbound lane of U.S. 90 Alternate is closed while crews work to contain the fuel spill and safely clear the roadway.

Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling through the area, expect traffic delays and consider taking an alternate route until the cleanup is complete.

There is no word on what caused the spill or how long the lane closure is expected to last.
