GALVESTON COUNTY, Tx – On Tuesday, Galveston County jurors found Jesus Jose Pena Sr. guilty of continuous sex abuse of young children.

Jurors heard testimony from four victims who are now adults. They described abuse that spanned roughly 15 years and began when one of the victims was just 4 years old.

The jury deliberated for less than an hour before returning its verdict.

During the punishment phase, Pena testified and admitted to being a “monster,” but described the abuse as normal.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Quinten McConico urged jurors to impose a sentence that would ensure Pena never reenters the community, saying, “These girls do not need to look forward to the day the defendant gets out.”

The jury sentenced Pena to 90 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Prosecutors say the offense is not eligible for parole under Texas law.

After the sentencing, McConico said, “These women deserve to close this chapter and begin healing, and the verdict returned by this jury is the beginning of that.”
