HOUSTON – Authorities are searching for a suspect after a woman reported being attacked while she was exercising along White Oak Bayou in the Inwood area Monday evening.

The Harris County Pct. 1 Constable’s Office said they got the call around 6:30 p.m.

The woman reportedly told deputies she had fought off a stranger who attacked her and sexually assaulted her along the bayou.

The woman told authorities the man tried to drown her, but she managed to escape and found her way to Precinct 1 deputies.

The suspect is described as a black male with missing front teeth in his early to mid-20s. He had a bike and a black backpack and was reportedly wearing a gray shirt with an olive-green long sleeve undershirt with a gray design on the side.

Authorities say he is believed to have been injured in one eye by the victim as she fought him off. He may also be missing some hair she yanked from his short afro.

Deputies are currently searching the area around the 7000 block of Bent Branch Drive, according to Precinct 1.
